A look back in our archives found an employee newsletter updating the team about the services in our General Engineering Department, “Bridges, culverts, retaining walls, buildings and other structures comprise most of the projects handled by this department. Providing the engineering skills necessary to complement the projects of other departments is also the job of the General Engineering Department.”

In September 1989 SSM announced the expansion of their engineering capabilities with the addition of a mechanical and electrical engineering group. While initially serving our municipal clients, the expanded capabilities also served our growing industrial client base.
